Chip Away Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
YoaTech operates Chip Away, an offline-first puzzle game. This policy covers the game's local saves, Google Play Games features, advertising, and optional usage measurement. We do not ask you to enter your name, email address, phone number, address, or date of birth in the game. Device and app identifiers processed by service providers may nevertheless be personal data.
The age and optional Analytics controls described below are planned for version 0.1.23. As of October 7, 2026, that version has not yet been released to the stores; the currently available version may not include these new controls.
Local gameplay and online features
Progress, saved runs, settings, and best scores are stored on your device. Google Play Games on Android can authenticate your existing Google gaming profile and receive scores and achievement progress. Leaderboards may display your gaming profile and score according to Google's settings. The game does not receive your Google password. You can manage your Play Games profile and permissions through Google Play Games and your Google account.
Play Games may process your gaming profile name (gamertag), player identifier, scores, and achievement progress. The Google Play Games SDK may also process device/app information and diagnostics for service operation, measurement, and security. These platform operations are separate from the optional Firebase Analytics setting; turning Analytics off does not delete Play Games data.
Advertising and consent
Google AdMob provides rewarded ads requested by the player and ads at limited game transitions. Advertising services may process device and advertising identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, device information, ad interactions, and diagnostics for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Google UMP manages applicable advertising privacy choices. On iOS, the system tracking permission is requested when applicable; you can change it in iOS Settings. Advertising consent and system tracking permission are separate choices.
You can reopen applicable advertising privacy options from the game's Settings. Declining personalized advertising may still permit limited or non-personalized ads, depending on the applicable consent requirements and Google's SDK response. Our maximum ad content setting is G and sensitive ad categories are blocked; these settings do not guarantee the content of every third-party ad.
Optional Analytics in version 0.1.23 and later
Google Analytics for Firebase measures gameplay only after an adult explicitly enables the separate optional Analytics setting. It is disabled by default. Measurement may include app-instance identifiers, technical device information, screens, level starts and ends, scores, and achievement milestones. We do not send age selections, contact details, Google account identifiers, or saved boards as custom Analytics parameters. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization consent remain denied for this optional measurement feature.
Analytics data can be used with the game's linked AdMob property for aggregated usage and monetization reporting. Turning Analytics off in Settings stops future collection and resets the local Analytics instance data. It does not itself delete events already received by Google. Data handling and retention also depend on Google's services and the configured property settings.
Age choices in version 0.1.23 and later
Chip Away is intended for users aged 13 and over. Its content rating describes the game content and is separate from its intended audience. The game requests only an age group, stores the choice locally, and allows play without answering. When age is unknown or the selected group is under 18, advertising and optional Analytics remain disabled. Choosing an older group does not unlock game content. Google Play Games is a separate platform feature governed by Google's account and age controls. Earlier app versions may have a different advertising flow; the new age and privacy controls will be available when that version is released.
Providers, security, and your choices
Google processes data under its own applicable service and privacy terms. We do not sell your local game saves. Internet services and local storage carry security risks; we do not promise absolute security. Local saves can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. Online data and platform permissions may require separate action through Google or Apple. For privacy questions or requests, use the support/contact information at https://yoatech.com.
We will update this page when relevant practices change.
